In an article for Telepolis Marcus Hammerschmidt describes the Trading Card craze among kids from an adult’s perspective and resumes that this industry is about to conquer the world.
Trading cards games like Pokémon or the rather new Yu-Gi-Oh are among the products the can be called contagious because their message mainly spreads through social interactions.
Hammschmidt critically concludes, that young children are helpless victims of a giant viral marketing campaign conducted by the trading card industry, a campaign that has more impact than any million dollar adverstising campaign.
